Faculty Attending SC14 Invited to Use Remote Teaching Rooms in Convention Center
Posted on Wednesday, October 15, 2014
Faculty members who plan to attend the SC14 conference will have access to two dedicated rooms for remotely teaching their courses. The two facilities are rooms 256 and 257 in the convention center in New Orleans. The rooms will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 through Thursday, Nov. 20 (Central Standard Time).
Faculty who want to use the room will need to have a Skype account. Someone at the home institution will need to run Skype on a classroom computer that is connected to a projector, external speakers and a microphone. We strongly recommend that you schedule a block of time prior to your class to do a “test run” to ensure that students in the classroom can see your slides and hear your voice clearly – and that you can also hear your students.
To reserve time in one of the rooms, use these links:

The remote teaching facility is provided by the SC14 HPCIInterconnections program.
