ACM Committee Chooses Gordon Bell Finalists
After much deliberation, the ACM-appointed awards committee has narrowed down five outstanding papers that demonstrate exceptional achievements in parallel computing, and just one of these papers will be win the prize! The final Gordon Bell Prize winner will be announced at SC14's awards ceremony this November.

Industry! Engage with Attendees through the HPC Impact Showcase
In continuing the dynamic HPC Impact Showcase on the SC14 Exhibit Floor, the SC14 committee is pleased to invite conference attendees from within the industry to share their stories of how HPC has transformed their endeavors and given them a competitive advantage. Panels Have Been Released!
Panels at SC14 will be among the most important and heavily attended events of the conference, with this year's panel topics ranging from the Future of Memory Technologies to the Return of HPC Survivor, Funding Strategies for HPC to Challenges with Liquid Cooling, etc. The Panels Committee received 39 submissions and 13 were specially selected for presentation, debate, and discussion. We look forward for your lively discussion and participation this November.

Student Travel Grants Still Open
Are you a student and need to get to SC14? There are two ways you can get there! Apply for SC14 travel assistance through SIGHPC and/or ACM-W. Each grant includes complimentary Technical Program registration and winners will be matched with a mentor to help him or her navigate the conference.
ACM-W applications are due August 15, 2014.

Exhibitors: Recruit Your Next Generation HPC Talent
Reservations are now being accepted for exhibitors to participate in the SC14 Student Job/Opportunity Fair. The event, part of the HPC Interconnections program, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 19. This face-to-face event will be open to all students and postdocs participating in the SC14 conference, giving them an opportunity to meet with potential employers.
Registration fee for exhibitors is $500. As available space is tight, we encourage all exhibitors to register as early as possible. Organizations wishing to participate in the SC14 Student Job/Opportunity Fair should contact sc@heiexpo.com for a registration form.

Exhibitors Sought for the SC14 BE Scavenger Hunt
SC14 exhibitors are invited to participate in the SC14 Broader Engagement (BE) program scavenger hunt, which will bring BE participants to search of participating booths to resolve clues so they can learn more about HPC, and win prizes.
Exhibitors can participate by:
• Signing up as a scavenger hunt destination. To register a booth, provide a clue-something participants will recognize when they find the booth on the show floor.
• Sponsoring cash or gifts as prizes. Exhibitors who donate prizes are acknowledged during the awards presentation, as well as by a label attached to each prize.

NSA, LLNL, and Walt Disney Company Contribute to Broader Engagement Scholarships
With advocacy of SC Fundraiser Tony Baylis (LLNL), and through the generosity of the National Security Agency, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL), and the Walt Disney Company, 61 Broader Engagement scholarships will be awarded this year. The SC14 BE program evaluated over 150 applications and was able to award about 44 applicants with funding to attend SC, but thanks to this year's sponsors, 17 more applicants will be able to attend!
