Papers

The SC14 Technical Papers program received 394 submissions covering a wide variety of research topics in HPC We followed a rigorous peer review process with an author rebuttal period, careful management of conflicts, and at least four reviews per submission (as many as six reviews in several cases). At a two-day face-to-face committee meeting on June 16-17 in Houston, technical paper committee members discussed the submissions and finalized their decisions. At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee had accepted 84 papers, which corresponds to an acceptance rate of 21.3 percent. Fourteen of the accepted papers have been selected as finalists for the Best Paper (BP) and Best Student Paper (BSP) awards. In a new part of the award process, the lead student authors of BSP finalists will be interviewed to understand their role in the work. The BP and BSP winners will be announced during the SC14 Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 20, 2014.

The Showcase received 27 submissions and was only able to accept 6, for an acceptance rate of 22%. Because of the highly competitive selection process, many very high quality movies could not be accepted. The Showcase Chairs and Program Committee followed a rigorous peer review process, with careful management of conflicts and at least three reviews per submission.

SC14, the premier annual international conference on high-performance computing, networking, storage and analysis, will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, November 16-21, 2014. The Technical Papers Program at SC is the leading venue for presenting the highest-quality original research, from the foundations of HPC to its emerging frontiers. The Conference Committee solicits submissions of excellent scientific merit that introduce new ideas to the field and stimulate future trends on topics such as applications, systems, parallel algorithms, data analytics and performance modeling. SC also welcomes submissions that make significant contributions to the "state-of-the-practice" by providing compelling insights on best-practices for provisioning, using and enhancing high-performance computing systems, services, and facilities.
